Who are you?
Hi, my name is Matt. I'm a 21 year-old filmmaker and electronic musican from Chicago.
I go to Columbia College with my beautiful and talented girlfriend (and poet) Nerissa.
Who is handheld?
Handheld is the name I use for my tracks made on the Nintendo Gameboy. Much
of the time my live shows are a combination of both yuppster and handheld music.
I have a few songs posted at my handheld iuma site, which is right here: handheld.iuma.com
I've seen a bunch of other albums of yours (on soulseek, etc.) Are those real?
Unfortunately yes. The following "albums" were made a long time ago
(under my first name, signal douser): gm1, gm2, gm3, gm6 (historonic electronic).
I have also made a slew of other various tracks and remixes, which are
either never to be released or yet to be released. Possibly, (if space allows)
I'll post those old crappy tunes in the multimedia archive.
Are you a DJ?
No, but I'd like to make booty house cause it's funny.
What equipment do you use?
I use my computer mostly running Fruityloops, Soundforge, Modplug, and a couple
other programs. The "simon ep" was made during christmastime only using Buzztracker. I also
own a Phatboy midi controller, a big stupid Yahmaha keyboard, a Casio sk-1,
and some other stuff. My handheld music is made completely using the Nintendo Gameboy
running Little Sound DJ.
Where can I get that "sad golf horn" track that plays at designgraphik.com?
The track is now on the new NPFC cd, Mushroomrobot, available from Planet Ant Records.
What's your name mean?
Nothing really. I thought it sounded fun. It has nothing to do with a "yuppie" or yuppie culture.
Your website looks messed up. What the deal?
Since the site is brand new, I might not have worked out all the compatibility issues
concerning different browsers. If something looks wierd, please tell me about it and included
what browser and operating system you were viewing it with.
I have a burning question not listed in this f.a.q!
Awesome. Give me an email at yuppster@8bitpeoples.com and I'll have it answered in a jiffy.
